Since 1970, a Ukrainian school has been established at the community center. Its core mission has remained to impart knowledge of Ukrainian language, history, geography, and culture.
However, as the years passed, the student enrollment dwindled significantly, ultimately leading to the school's closure.
Then, in 2019, the Reading Ukrainian School emerged, reigniting hope as the number of students surged to over 50 in recent months.
Witnessing its vibrant atmosphere once more is truly remarkable.
The Reading Ukrainian School aims to educate children of Ukrainian origin, aged 4-15, in Ukrainian language, history, geography, and culture.
We have a dedicated team of volunteers who exude enthusiasm and are eager to work with students of varying language skills and abilities, all while operating on a nonprofit basis.
In addition to learning Ukrainian language, literature, history, geography, and cultural heritage (українознавство), children also participate in engaging science classes taught in Ukrainian, as well as music activities.
